Agriculture plays an important role in various aspects of our lives. It lays the foundation through which people survive by providing food for humans and animals. Without agriculture, the chances of survival would be minimal, as people and animals die of starvation. As a result, agriculture has generated interest among many people, common policies, and even the researchers for their important contribution to humanity.

Power

Any country in the world who wants to be stable to provide its citizens with food. Through various agricultural practices that are there, agriculture is the main channel through which countries are able to feed its people. Thanks to the crop and livestock production, we can get food that is rich in nutrients that our body needs. Because of agriculture, people are able to live free from deficiency diseases.

Agriculture is also a source of energy. When trees and other plants are cut and used as firewood. Biofuels are the latest findings to play a major role in providing us an additional source of energy.

Economic engine and poverty reduction

In different parts of the world, particularly in developing economies and less developed, agriculture is the backbone of the mainstream economy. Agriculture contributes to the destruction and preservation of the ecosystem. The degree of destruction is the influence of activities take place in a particular ecosystem. As the population grows, more land and forests are cleared for agriculture. Activities such as deforestation and overgrazing interferes with how the same plants to survive.

For example, grasses are of different grass species. When grazing on a plot of land, animals eat the inedible edible species left behind. Since different grasses compete for the same nutrients. Species can coexist in the ecosystem, as no species has an advantage over the other. However, due to overgrazing, non-edible species have an advantage over other species, forcing them to disappear resulting in a complete change in ecosystem make-up.

The destruction of the atmosphere

Modern agriculture is practiced intensely when includes the use of high inputs of capital, labor and technology as the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers has led to increased agricultural production. However, intensive agriculture has also led to increased pollution by erosion, water contamination by agricultural chemicals and the release of toxic pesticides and herbicides fumes into the atmosphere.

Agriculture also leads to the addition of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These gases are the main contributors to global warming and the depletion of the ozone layer. Unless you are practicing sustainable agriculture, agricultural activities continue to adversely affect our atmosphere.
